Dear Valued Customers,

At Bowden’s Carpet Cleaning, the health and well-being of our Customers continues to be our primary concern. In an effort to safeguard the health of our customers and employees as the COVID-19 coronavirus circumstances continue to evolve, we’ve taken the following steps to ensure that Bowden’s remains your trusted provider for all of your Flooring cleaning needs.
No-Contact COVID-19 Safety Protocol & Cleaning Process
Customer & Employee Screenings
We will continue to provide customers with professional cleaning services if they are not showing symptoms such as fever, persistent coughing, or shortness of breath. If you’re suffering from any of those symptoms, your appointment will be rescheduled and we urge you to contact your local health authority.
Any team members experiencing a temperature of 100.4 or higher, or showing symptoms such as coughing, sneezing or trouble breathing, will not be permitted to provide services. In addition, any employee that has traveled to a CDC Level 2 or 3 region will be required to self-quarantine before returning to work, although we are highly recommending team members not travel at this time.
Wearing Personal Protective Equipment
First, wearing proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required. Our cleanup technicians wear a mask covering the mouth & nose to guard against splashes coming in contact with the mucous membranes of the mouth, nose, or eyes. They also wear, shoe covers, and Nitrile gloves.
The Cleaning Products
The cleaning products we use include EPA-registered hospital-grade disinfecting products, including towelettes, containing pharmaceutical ingredients that meet OSHA’s bloodborne pathogen standard against diseases like the coronavirus and other disease-causing bacteria, viruses, tuberculosis, mold, and mildew.
The Cleanup Materials
The cleaning materials our technicians typically use include:
- Disposable microfiber wipes, brushes and/or cleaning sponges
- Trigger or Pressure sprayers
- Trash bags and tape for sealing
- Truck mounted, HOT water carpet extraction for cleaning carpets, tile, hardwood and upholstery.
All cleaning equipment and tools will be disinfected after each use per CDC guidelines.
Disinfectant Application Procedures
Bowden’s Carpet Cleaning supports the CDC’s first recommended step – cleaning. Our machines operate at 210 degrees Fahrenheit… that alone provides significant disinfecting through our cleaning process. Additional options are available upon request using anti-microbial, sanitizing and disinfecting products.
Our technicians apply disinfectant using three methods, depending on the circumstances.
- Spray Application — This process uses a pump or electric sprayer. It’s the preferred system and can be used whenever the surface or item is visibly free of soil and dirt.
- Disinfecting Towelettes — We use them to wipe electronic items such as phones or computers. Towelettes are preferred if the surface or item has visible, light soil or dirt.
- Microfiber Wipes/Pads — These are an alternative to using pre-treated disinfecting towelettes. They are used with cleaning products in an appropriately labeled spray bottle.
The On-Site Procedures
First step, our technicians inspect and review the job and do a walkthrough to ensure that the area is ready for cleaning services. Then, they determine the flow of the work to do the work as efficiently and effectively as possible. Our goal is to be efficient, effective and in a timely mannor.
Our Bowden’s Carpet Cleaning team members have been thoroughly trained on all social-distancing procedures including maintaining the appropriate 6-foot distance from others and frequent hand-washing & hygiene techniques
We pay special attention to Carpeted or soft surfaces that have HIGH traffic areas or are extremely soiled from use.
“Cleaning of visibly dirty surfaces is the first step the CDC recommends for the prevention of COVID-19 and other viral respiratory illnesses in households.” Providing a cleaner, safer and more healthy living environment has always been one biggest benefits Bowden’s in Tampa has been providing provides for their customers.
When finished, the technician collects, removes, all materials used and will properly dispose of it. An additional step we take is to clean all tools, equipment, and PPE used in the coronavirus cleanup using an EPA-registered cleaner and disinfectant.
Options for Additional Sterilization
Our cleaning processes naturally sanitize treated areas (carpet, file, furniture, rugs, etc) due to the high temperatures (210 degrees) involved in each cleaning. For customers wanting additional protection and sanitization, we’re proud to offer Microban, a CDC pre-approved Antimicrobial COVID-19 fighting Disinfectant (see the full approved list here).
As the coronavirus pandemic continues to rise and health and government officials notify the public to take necessary measures to protect themselves, one of the best ways to slow its progress is by deep cleaning of all touch-point surfaces, soft porous materials along with the use of an EPA-registered disinfectant.
These methods of cleaning can be utilized for institutions, commercial, and residential properties. Our coronavirus cleaning services will help reduce contamination of COVID-19 in your Home or Commercial Property and in your Community.
